Bay City dentist Dr. Linda G. Goltz is making some big changes at her longtime Euclid Avenue office, but one thing remains the same: her devotion to serving Great Lakes Bay Region patients.
“We are very dedicated to this area,” said Goltz, who has operated her practice — now named Generations Family Dentistry — at 800 S. Euclid Ave. since 1982. “Our kids were born and raised here, and we’ve certainly put down roots.”
One of her children, Dr. Abby L. King, has returned to the area to join Goltz at her practice, inspiring the name change.
“I went with ‘Generations Family Dentistry’ because it not only reflects that my daughter and I are two generations of female dentists, but also that we are proud to serve multiple generations of patients — it’s our family caring for yours,” Goltz said.
King’s addition to the practice allows for extended office hours and the ability to see emergency patients faster, Goltz said.
“Plus, we are already seeing the benefits of being able to collaborate on patients’ treatment together and share opinions,” she said. “Two heads are better than one.”
King recently earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan. She is excited to return to Bay City to join her mother’s practice, which she credits for staying current in dentistry trends that benefit patients.
“We are certainly in line with the times, offering digital X-rays, computer charting and more,” King said. “We also have a very fun atmosphere, which is important. Many people don’t particularly enjoy coming to the dentist, so we offer cable TV and other things that help make it fun around here.”
As a general dentist, King said she most enjoys getting to help patients of all ages.
“I get to do a little bit of everything,” she said. “I really like seeing kids and making it a good experience for them so they are not afraid.
“Bay City is such a great place to practice. It’s a small town, so everybody knows everybody, and it’s a great place to raise a family, so there are a lot of benefits for my family as well.”
